These home raised commercial Brangus(R) and commercial Brangus(R) cross heifers are deep hipped, long bodied with plenty of muscle and volume. In other words, they are just plain good! Heifers were born in Fall 2023 and early Winter 2024.
Prairie Creek Farms has worked tirelessly to create fully functional commercial females whose steer mates are desired in the feedlot through careful attention to sire selection and cow families. Their cowherd also has a proven history of longevity with many brood cows producing 10+ calves. Prairie Creek implements a complete herd health program. Heifers have been raised on Fescue pastures on Blackbelt soils. Heifers are pasture bred to a Ultrablack(TM) son of BRD Range Rover 889D. This bull was bred right and is in the top 1% for calving ease and top 2% of the Ultrablack(TM) bulls for birth weight. He is in the top 25% of Ultrablack(TM) bulls for yearling weight, milk, REA and intramuscular fat. This exceptional cleanup bull should produce progeny that will excel both in the feedlot and cow herd. Heifers were exposed to 1420J3 from November 1, 2024 and pregnancy checked on September 15, 2025. From the pregnancy check data, 5 to 8 heifers will have calved by the sale. The remaining heifers will calve from late November 2025 thru February 2026. Click here for 1420J3's EPDs and Pedigree |
