Sales management will be in contact with each consignor concerning traveling to take sale photos and videos. Videos will be used both on the BCM website, facebook page and DVAuction site to promote each consignor's cattle.
Cattle eligible to sell in this sale:
- Quality replacement heifers that will calve between the end of November 2024 and May 31, 2025.
- Select Fall-born pairs sired by a registered beef bull born out of 1st calf heifers
- Quality, virgin bulls less than 30 months of age that are registered with EPD values and who passed a breeding soundness exam.

The definition of Select Pairs for the Blackbelt Fall Ball Replacement Female Sale are as follows:
- Heifers need to be consigned in groups of 3 to 5 heifers. Each consignor must consign a minimum of three (3) heifers.
- Heifer birthdates: September 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023
- Heifers should calve between December 1, 2024 and May 1, 2025
- All heifers must be bred to a registered bull, preferably with EPD (Expected Progeny Difference) values. Heifers can be bred AI or pasture bred.
- The registration number of the service sire(s) of the bred heifers must be provided at consignment to the sale. If sires of the heifers are known, please provide those registration numbers as well.
- A breeding date or date range and the resulting projected calving date range will be required for each bred heifer.
- Heifers must be determined pregnant by a licensed veterinarian by rectal palpation or ultrasound by October 1, 2024.
- Recommended Vaccinations and best management practices are the following:
- 7-way Blackleg (Clostridial diseases)
- 5-way Leptospirosis - Vibriosis
- IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV
- Heifers should be treated for internal and external parasites within 30 days prior to the sale using a quality product as a best management practice.
- Each bred heifer will be screened for structural correctness, overall quality, foot structure and adequate weight per day of age. The sales management has the right to refuse inferior quality heifers.
- Heifers must not have been implanted with a growth implant at any time during their life.
Rules for Select Pairs:
The definition of Select Pairs for the Blackbelt Fall Ball Replacement Female Sale are as follows:
- Cow should have a birthdate between August 1 and December 31, 2022.
- Current calf at side should be born between August 1 and October 31, 2024.
- Calf must be sired by a registered bull. Calves can be sired by AI bulls or natural service sires.
- Select Pairs will be sold as pairs. Two pairs will be sold at a time through the sale ring.
- A consignor must consign at least 2 pairs
- The registration number of the sire(s) calf must be provided at consignment to the sale. If known, also provide the registration number of the dam’s sire.
- Recommended Vaccinations and best management practices are the following for the cow:
- 7-way Blackleg (Clostridial diseases)
- 5-way Leptospirosis - Vibriosis
- IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV
- Cows should be treated for internal and external parasites within 30 days prior to the sale using a quality product as a best management practice.
- Each pair will be screened for structural correctness, udder quality, overall quality and foot structure. The sales management has the right to refuse inferior quality pairs.
- No use of growth implants in the cow or their heifer calf.
Rules for Virgin Bulls:
- Bulls must be virgins.
- Bull birthdates: August 1, 2022 through November 30, 2023
- Bulls must be registered with their respective breed association and have EPD values for at least birth weight, weaning weight, milk and yearling weight.
- Bulls must be eligible for transfer of ownership to the buyer.
- Bulls must pass and have documentation of passing a breeding soundness exam from a qualified veterinarian no more than 30 days prior to sale date. Documentation must be turned into the sales management when bulls are delivered on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
- Recommended Vaccinations and best management practices are the following:
- 7-way Blackleg (Clostridial diseases)
- 5-way Leptospirosis - Vibriosis
- IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV
- Bulls should be treated for internal and external parasites within 30 days prior to the sale using a quality product as a best management practice.
- Each bull will be screened for structural correctness, overall quality, foot structure and adequate weight per day of age. The sales management has the right to refuse inferior quality bulls.
- Bulls must not have been implanted with a growth implant at any time during their life.
Sale Order and Sale Commission:
Sale order will be determined by a committee once all consignment animals are received at the sale barn on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Sale order will rotate among consignors and will take into consideration quality and overall number of animals consigned. Females will be sold first, followed by bulls.
Sales commission is 8.5%.
Additional charge: If animals arrive to the sale facility NOT tagged with both the visual and EID tags, there will be a $35/head chute charge to tag your cattle.
Sale tags will be provided by Blackbelt Cattle Marketing for each animal approximately 1 month prior to the sale.
Sale order will be determined by a committee once all consignment animals are received at the sale barn on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Sale order will rotate among consignors and will take into consideration quality and overall number of animals consigned. Females will be sold first, followed by bulls.
Sales commission is 8.5%.
