Johnston Cattle Co., located in Letohatchee Alabama is ranching on lands that has been in the Johnston family since the 1830’s. The ranch transitioned to a Brangus base genetics program over 30 years ago and has become known as one of the top commercial herds in the area. Johnston Cattle also operates Johnston Brangus and is a member of the Cavendar-Draggin’M and Partners Organization known throughout the Southeastern US and Internationally for their reputation Brangus and Ultrablack genetics.
The Johnston Cattle offering comes from the heart of their commercial breeding heifers. Black with a few BWF with tons of growth as well as maternal and carcass in these females. Heifers will be slick hided and deep sided showing ¼ to ⅜ ear and bred to Brangus and Ultra-Black Bulls with an average Calving Ease EPD of 5.5 and BW EPD of 0.7. Service bulls have a lot of growth in them with Weaning EPD average of 31.1 and Yearling EPD of 57.6. Service sires will produce calves that are not only easy calving but have the growth potential to make the load at weaning time with calves from your cow herd.
