Charles Chamblee purchased his current farm in Wetumpka, AL in 2015. However, his roots are deep in agriculture. He was raised on a diversified farm in eastern North Carolina. His family raised cattle, hogs, corn, beans, wheat and 6 acres of tobacco. Their tobacco was flue-cured . When the tobacco was ready, they picked on Mondays and Tuesdays, with their mornings starting at 3 a.m. Once the individual leaves were tied on the drying sticks, they kept a wood fire burning until the next Monday to dry the tobacco leaves. That meant someone had to stay up all night with the fire!
Shiloh Ridge Farm ultimately decided to breed Hereford cattle because Charles could work them by himself. Today, his grandson helps on the farm.
Shiloh Ridge is offering six (6) 20 to 22 month old bulls. Lots 445 and 446 are sired by the AI sire Cuda, who is an American Hereford Association Sire of Distinction and a CHB Sire. Lots 447 through 450 are all grandsons of the great Whitehawk Natural 290E, who has also been named a CHB sire.
