Meadowlake Farm is offering 8 bred registered Hereford heifers and 1 commercial Hereford heifer. They are sired by either the Hereford AI bull Eclipse from Sandhill Farms in western Kansas, CSR 405D Provident 752E. or D1033, who is an EF BeefU208 Tested X651 ET son.
Eclipse is a proven top 2% of the breed calving ease bull with top 40% growth and milk, superior udder shape and teat size and in the top 15% for marbling. He was born small and grew fast compared to his contemporaries. He is moderate in size with more muscle and rib than average. He sired Lots 637, 638 and 639. CSR 405D Provident 752E. was bred by Sparks Ranch in north Alabama and they always felt this was the best bull they ever produced. He still ranks in the top 40% for calving ease and yearling weight EPD. 752E also ranks in the top 35% of the Hereford breed for weaning weight and top 25% ribeye area as well as the top 5% of the Hereford breed for udder and teat quality and marbling. He sired Lots 640 to 645. D1033 is a son of Tested. Tested continues to be in the top 1% of the Hereford breed for REA and marbling. He sired Lots 646 and 647. Meadowlake Farm develops their heifers on high quality forages. After weaning they are moved to annual ryegrass pastures in late Fall until Spring. For the warmer months, they graze on crabgrass and Bermudagrass pastures. For individual pedigrees and EPDs on the registered Hereford heifers: Lot 637 will calve mid-December to early January Lot 639 will calve mid to late February Lot 641 will calve late December to mid-January Lot 642 will calve late December to mid-January Lot 643 will calve mid-December to early January Lot 644 will calve mid-January to early February. She is not registered. Lot 645 will calve mid-January to early February. Lot 646 will calve mid-December to early January Lot 647 will calve mid-January to early February All heifers were pasture exposed to a Quail Valley Brangus bull from December 2024 to March 25, 2025. They were pasture exposed to a Next Step SimAngus(TM) bull from March 25 to July 17, 2024. |
