The heart of the Cox Cattle and Produce offering is a set of 8 F1 Angus-Brahman females. The purebred Brahman dams of these heifers are an impressive herd that Cox Cattle and Produce has assembled leaning heavily on J.D. Hudgins genetics. The sire of these F1 females is a Coleman Charlo 0256 son.
Cox Cattle and Produce believe their cattle have to make it on the forages they produce plus minerals. They also believe their cows should work for them and deliver a calf at weaning weighing 50% of their dam's body weight. These F1 females, along with a F1 Hereford-Brahman female and a commercial Brangus female, were pasture bred to either a Brangus or Ultrablack(TM) bull. Both these bulls are in the top 25% for calving ease EPD and top 15% for birth weight EPD in the Brangus breed. 416E (Ultrablack) 956J (Brangus) Heifers will calve beginning in January 2024. |
