Steve May Cattle Company is bringing the type of bred heifer destined to start herds and breeding program excellence. The majority of the bred heifers are F1 Hereford-Brahman (n=47) with a few F1 Angus-Brahman (n=6) and 2 commercial Red Brahman.
These females were developed in the Blackbelt region of Alabama and are ready to become productive females with longevity. They have plenty of volume, capacity and shape of rib and can be bred a multitude of ways to produce quality calves that will be favorites at market. Heifers are bred to Next Step Cattle Company SimAngus(TM) bulls. J812 (1/2 Simmental 1/2 Angus J814 (3/4 Simmental 1/4 Angus) J812 and J814 are homozygous black and homozygous polled. Both bulls have excellent API Index (All Purpose Index) and TI Index (Terminal Index) EPD values. J812 has an API Index in the top 10% and TI Index in the top 4%. J814 is in the top 35% for API index and 50% for Terminal Index EPD values. Heifers will begin calving in early December. The resulting calves will express maximum hybrid vigor adding pounds at weaning and yearling and dollars to the wallet. |
