Kenansville Cattle Company is located in the heart of cattle country in central Florida. The cattle are raised on land that has been passed down through four generations.
For the past 22 years, Kenansville Cattle Company has utilized a true three breed rotational crossbreeding system with Brahman, Hereford and Red Angus genetics. This allows for 86% individual and maternal retained heterosis or hybrid vigor in the resulting females. The herd has consistently been selected for cowherd fertility, growth, frame size and carcass quality. In 2021, additional selection pressure was placed on heifer weaning weight. Brahman bulls are Kempfer Cattle genetics based in Saint Cloud, Florida. CK Ranch genetics from Salina, Kansas is the source of Hereford bulls while Red Angus bulls are sourced from Shuler Red Angus in Bridgeport, NE. A total of 79 heifers will in the 2023 offering. Fifty-one heifers will be Hereford sired. Twenty-eight heifers will be sired by Brahman sires. Of the 28 Brahman sired heifers, 10 have been diagnosed pregnant using ultrasound with heifer calves! |

All are bred to Shuler Red Angus bulls selected for calving ease, growth and carcass quality. These bulls are in the top 25% for calving ease and weaning weight EPD, top 40% for birth weight, yearling weight, calving ease maternal, carcass weight and marbling EPD and top 15% for REA EPD.
All heifers have been dewormed and vaccinated and boostered with Bovi-shield Gold VL5 HB, Ultrachoice 8 and Autogenous Bacterin. Heifers will begin calving in September 2023. |
